The Cool Savings Rebate Program provides you with the opportunity to help you do your part to reduce Ontario’s electricity consumption while saving money through rebates on the purchase of energy-efficient heating and cooling products and services, as well as on your electricity bill.

When you need to have your heating and/or cooling equipment replaced, you can help by investing in systems that meet or exceed the ENERGY STAR® standard for energy efficiency. Another way to help achieve this is to use a programmable thermostat to adjust your household temperature at night and when you are away from your home. These steps can reduce your heating and cooling costs dramatically, plus you’re doing something good for the environment.

Have an existing central air conditioning (CAC) system? Make sure you have it serviced each year by a qualified technician to ensure your system runs as efficiently as possible. This will help you use less electricity and help the environment, as well as protecting your investment in your central air conditioning system.

The Cool Savings Rebate Program is being offered to Ontario residents with existing central heating and cooling systems. Rebates are available for residents who replace an existing CAC system with one that meets or exceeds the ENERGY STAR® standard for CAC systems, who install a qualified furnace or air handler with a fully variable speed electronically commutated motor (ECM). Rebates are also available for those who have a programmable thermostat installed by a technician, or for those who have a tune-up on an existing central air conditioner.

The rebates are:

$350 REBATE ON THE REPLACEMENT OF AN EXISTING CAC SYSTEM WITH AN ENERGY STAR®-QUALIFIED CAC SYSTEM

1. All services must be performed by a registered, participating, authorized contractor of the Cool Savings Rebate Program
2. Installation must occur before March 31, 2008.
3. This offer applies only to customers with existing CAC systems.
4. April 1 - December 31, 2008 this rebate is $250.00

$750 REBATE ON THE REPLACEMENT OF AN EXISTING CAC SYSTEM WITH AN ELIGIBLE SYSTEM THAT EXCEEDS ENERGY STAR® STANDARDS AND THE REPLACEMENT OF AN EXISTING FURNACE WITH AN ELIGIBLE HIGH-EFFICIENCY FURNACE EQUIPPED WITH AN ECM

1. All services must be performed by a registered, participating, authorized contractor of the Cool Savings Rebate Program
2. Installation must occur before March 31, 2008.
3. This offer applies only to customers with existing CAC and furnace systems.

$100 REBATE ON THE REPLACEMENT OF AN EXISTING FURNACE WITH AN ELIGIBLE MID-EFFICIENCY FURNACE EQUIPPED WITH AN ECM

1. All services must be performed by a registered, participating, authorized contractor of the Cool Savings Rebate Program
2. Installation must occur before March 31, 2008.
3. Qualifying furnaces must appear on the list of eligible products.
4. April 1 - December 31, 2008 this rebate is $125.00

$250 REBATE ON THE REPLACEMENT OF AN EXISTING FURNACE WITH AN ELIGIBLE HIGH-EFFICIENCY FURNACE EQUIPPED WITH AN ECM

1. All services must be performed by a registered, participating, authorized contractor of the Cool Savings Rebate Program
2. Installation must occur before March 31, 2008.
3. Qualifying furnaces must appear on the list of eligible products.
4. April 1 - December 31, 2008 this rebate is $125.00

$50 REBATE TOWARDS A THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT

1. All services must be performed by a registered, participating, authorized contractor of the Cool Savings Rebate Program
2. Installation must occur before March 31, 2008.
3. This offer only applies to customers who do not currently have a programmable thermostat .
4. April 1 - December 31, 2008 this rebate is $25.00
